Ms. Varga-Borys, a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), graduated with honours from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) mechanical engineering program in 1997.  Her former career as a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist provides her with a strong medical background, which is particularly beneficial in the area of injury causation analysis. This background together with more recent studies in injury biomechanics makes her a valuable assistant in these cases.

Ms. Varga-Borys is accredited with The Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) and certified in Crash Data Retrieval.  She has advanced training in the computer accident reconstruction and simulation programs PC-Crash and WinCrash, and has taken numerous accident reconstruction courses including pedestrian/bicycle collision investigations.

In addition to performing collision reconstruction, Ms. Varga-Borys has participated in complex product liability cases involving personal watercraft, seatbelts, airbags, child restraints, seatbacks, and helmets.  Some of these investigations included defect testing and the development of test protocols.  Her involvement in personal watercraft testing led to the co-authoring of two papers published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Ms. Varga-Borys is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Canadian Association of Technical Accident Investigators and Reconstructionists.
